JOY FEST @ Vasavi College on 26th Sept
It was on the 22nd morning of this month that the fever of JOYFEST reached
a bunch of students at Vasavi College Of Engineering. The handful of students
had the tough job of mobilising people in their college to take up this
event as their own. Not even sparing the lunch break or the short intervals
during the day, they grabbed every opportunity they got to spread the
word regarding the celebration of “JOY OF GIVING WEEK” at their
college.
The students divided themselves into 7 to 8 teams (where each team had
to cover one branch in the college) and went about on their goal to make
such an event happen in such a short time frame. The principal Dr. Chingal
Raju was kind enough to grant the students everything they needed to make
such an event possible starting from a donation box, clothes donation
and book donation camps throughout the week along with permissions to
sports rooms to monetary help for conducting the event.
One of the primary reasons being their eagerness to provide the children
of Rasoolpora a taste of college life and its atmosphere in an attempt
to embed a thought of further education into their young minds. In return
they went through a great learning experience. On the 26th September,
a college bus was arranged at Begumpet to pick them up. Led by Razia ji
(a community leader at Rasoolpora), the children and the students indulged
themselves in the most common game during bus travel – Antakshari.
The children were then taken for a tour of the campus.
